SEATTLE, Wash.--(SU Media Relations) Seattle University women’s soccer (8-2-2, 5-0-0) completed their perfect weekend with a 2-0 shutout at Utah Valley (5-7-0, 3-2-0 WAC) in Western Athletic Conference play. This is the team’s fifth straight shutout and sixth straight win.
“I was really proud with how we finished this weekend,” said head coach Julie Woodward. “We had lots of travel and playing at altitude, the team took care of business. Utah Valley is a great team and we were able to come away with another shutout and two great goals. Brianna and our backline continue to do an excellent job. Julia and Ava have become so consistent and provide us with such a strong midfield presence. It was really a great overall win that the team grinded out.”

Bakersfield 1, Idaho 0
BAKERSFIELD, Calif.—(CSUB Media Relations) Bakersfield picked up its first Western Athletic Conference women’s soccer victory Sunday afternoon as the Roadrunners defeated Idaho 1-0.
Emily Noethe (Sr., Dallas, Ga., East Paulding HS) headed in an Erica Shelton (Sr., Bakersifeld, Calif., UC Santa Barbara) cross with 1:20 remaining in the first half for what proved to be the gamewinner. The Roadrunners (2-9-1, 1-3-1 WAC) would outshoot the Vandals (3-9, 3-2 WAC) 14-2 and held a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks. ‘Runner goalie Tori Ornela (R-So., Lemoore, Calif., Lemoore HS) recorded her second career shutout.

Grand Canyon 2, New Mexico State 1 (2OT)
LAS CRUCES, N.M.-(GCU Media Relations) The Grand Canyon University women's soccer team (2-9-1, 1-4-1) recorded its first Western Athletic Conference win with a 2-1, double overtime victory over New Mexico State (4-8-1, 1-4-0) today at the NMSU Soccer Complex in Las Cruces, N.M. It was the sixth game decided by one goal or less for GCU, and their second forced into double overtime.
The Antelopes controlled the ball offensively for much of the latter part of the game, ultimately holding the advantage in shots on goal (8-7). GCU put seven of those shots on target beginning in the second half. For the game, the Aggies narrowly outshot the 'Lopes, 14-12, while the squads were even with six saves apiece.
