Nebraska City, Neb.--(GCU Media Relations) The Grand Canyon University men's golf team won the team title at the UNO Maverick Collegiate Invitational, posting a three-round score of 31-over 895 to finish 14 strokes ahead of second-place finisher Nebraska-Omaha, who hosted the two-day tournament at the Arbor Link Golf Club in Omaha, Neb. The Antelopes had three golfers finish in the top-10 and all five of their student-athletes place in the top-15.

North Dakota State finished third in the team standings at 61-over 925.

The 'Lopes tied with North Dakota State for the tournament lead with 33 birdies, while leading the field in pars (169), Par 4 scoring, and Par 5 scoring.

GCU's Mark Geddes was the individual medalist with a 54-hole total of two-under 214 as he was the lone player to shoot under par on the Par 72 course. He led the tournament field with 12 total birdies and led the field in both Par 3 (-2) and Par 4 (+3) scoring.

Teammate Hayden Webb and UNO's Karl Kreisser tied for second overall at seven-over 223. Webb tied for the fifth-most birdies with seven over the two days, and led the tournament on Par 5 scoring at six-under as he moved up from a tie for seventh following yesterday's two rounds.

Colton West tied for seventh after carding an 11-over 227, while Billy Comeaux and Alec Dahlquist tied for 15th at 16-over 232.

The 'Lopes will next be in action Oct. 25-26 at the Price's "Give 'Em Five" Invitational hosted by Texas-El Paso at the Butter Field Trail Golf Club in El Paso, Texas. The tournament will serve as the final one for GCU in the fall. Fans can follow the action by visiting www.gculopes.com.
