Washington State 81, Seattle U 72
The Redhawks fell to 0-2 on the season with an 81-72 loss to Washington State at the Connolly Center Tuesday.

Seattle U shot 40 percent from the floor, 17 percent from downtown and 60 percent from the charity stipe on the game. The Cougars connected on 37 percent from the field, 29 percent from three-point range and 65 percent from the from the free throw line. Washington State on the rebounding battle, 52-40.

Kacie Sowell paced the Redhawks with 17 points and eight rebounds, while Ashley Ward added 15 points and seven boards. Kristin Stoffel added 10 points, while Alexis Montgomery had a team-high four assists.

UTEP 94, New Mexico State 69
The Aggies opened the season with a 94-69 loss to UTEP at the Don Haskins Center Tuesday.

New Mexico State shot 41 percent from the field, 27 percent from three-point range and 67 percent from the free throw line on the game. The Miners connected on 55 percent from the floor, 46 percent from downtown and 67 percent from the charity stripe on the game. UTEP won the rebounding battle, 39-32.

Vanessa Garner led the Aggies with 16 points, while Sasha Weber had 13. Tlyer Elliss and Moriah Mack added 11 points apiece. September Offutt grabbed a team-high six boards.
