New Mexico State 3, UTEP 1
The Aggies picked up their eighth straight victory Tuesday, defeating rival UTEP in four sets (21-25, 25-21, 25-21, 25-19) in non-conference action at the Pan American Center. With the win, New Mexico State improves to 19-10 on the season.
The Aggies out-hit the Miners .235 to .160. NM State also had more kills (67-48), assists (63-48), service aces (3-2), digs (73-60) and blocks (14-10).
Lauren Loerch led a group of four Aggies in double-digit kills with 14, followed by Gwen Murphy with 12, and Desiree Scott and Bradley Nash with 11 apiece. Scott and Nash both posted double-doubles, as Scott also had 11 blocks and Nash had 14 digs. Jordan Reifsteck had a match-high 21 digs.
