The Antelopes completed the season sweep of Texas-Pan American, sweeping the Broncs (25-23, 25-21, 25-15) in WAC action at Antelope Gymnasium Friday. With the win, Grand Canyon improves to 10-17 overall and 4-10 in the WAC. UTPA drops to 13-19 on the year and 2-13 in WAC play.
The Antelopes hit .210 on the match, compared to the .102 of the Broncs. Grand Canyon also had more kills (35-32), assists (31-30), service aces (5-4), digs (53-49) and blocks (4-3).
Shannon Dugan led the Antelopes with 10 kills, while Hayleigh Friemoth added nine kills and 11 digs. Jessica Posse dished out 19 assists and Mackenzie Phelps had a match-high 15 digs.
Krysta Freitas and Haley Durham had 10 kills each to pace UTPA. Nycole Masaki finished with 26 assists and 11 digs for her sixth double-double of the year.
