CORPUS CHRISTI – (UTPA Media Relations) The University of Texas-Pan American Broncs men's basketball team fell to the host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islanders 72-61 on Sunday in the final game of the Holiday Inn Downtown Marina Islanders Basketball Tournament at the American Bank Center.
Graduate student Javorn Farrell led the Broncs (2-4) in scoring for the fifth-straight game with 19 points on 7-of-15 shooting. Sophomore Shaquille Hines scored a career-high 13 points.
Hameed Ali led four Islanders (3-2) in double-figures scoring with 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting, including 3-of-4 from behind the arc. Zane Knowles scored 13 points with a game-high 12 rebounds. Jeff Beverly had 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting. Coles Martinez finished with 11 points.
