Cal Poly 72, New Mexico State 64
The Aggies fell 72-64 to Cal Poly at the Mott Athletics Center Monday. With the loss, New Mexico State falls to 1-3 on the season.
The Aggies shot 39 percent from the field, 41 percent from three-point range and 70 percent from the free throw line on the game. The Mustangs connected on 44 percent from the floor, 30 percent from beyond the arc and just 29 percent from the line. Cal Poly dominated the boards, 51-31.
Elena Holguin led NM State with 19 points, while Sasha Weber adde 12 points and Vanessa Garner had 10. Moriah Mack had a team-high six rebounds.
Omaha 76, Chicago State 62
The Cougars dropped their third straight game, falling 76-62 to Omaha at Sapp Fieldhouse Monday. With the loss, Chicago State drops to 1-3 on the season. The Mavericks improve to 2-2.
The Cougars shot 34 percent from the field, 25 percent from three-point range and 71 percent from the free throw line on the game. Omaha connected on 53 percent from the floor, 36 percent from downtown and 100 percent from the charity stripe on the game. Chicago State won the rebounding battle, 36-34.
Tierra Williams led all players with 21 points and nine rebounds. Paris Williams added 20 points and six steals.
