Seattle U 80, Portland State 68
The Redhawks picked up their first win of the season, 80-68 at Portland State Friday at Peter W. Stott Arena Friday. With the win, Seattle U improves to 1-3 on the season. The Vikings drop to 0-2 on the year.
The Redhawks shot 49 percent from the field, 36 percent from three-point range and 50 percent from the free throw line on the game. Portland State connected on 33 percent from the floor, 29 percent from beyond the arc and 89 percent from the charity stripe. Seattle U edged the Vikings on the boards, 41-39.
Sylvia Shephard led all players with a career-high 25 points, 13 rebounds, seven assists and four steals. Kacie Sowell added 24 points, while Tarlor Ross had 15. Alexis Montgomery and Ashley Ward dished out six assists apiece.
