Kansas City's Courtney Frerichs finished 38th at the women's NCAA Cross Country Championships, which took place Saturday in Terre Haute, Ind.
The junior from Nixa, Mo. (Nixa HS) ran the 6K course in 20:44.5, making a strong push late in the race, moving up from 110th after the first 2K and 57th at the 4K mark.
Dartmouth's Abbey D'Agostino won the race with a time of 20:00.3. Providence won the women's team title.
Frerichs became the first women's student-athlete to represent Kansas City at the NCAA Cross Country Championship. She won two races on the year and finished second at the WAC Cross Country Championships.
