Bakersfield 71, Idaho State 69
BAKERSFIELD, Calif.-(CSUB Media Relations) Zach Lamb (R-Sr., Norcross, Ga., Miami-Dade CC) and Javonte Maynor (R-Jr., Atlanta, Ga., Georgia State) didn’t score a single point in Bakersfield’s third win of the season on Monday, but Saturday night the guard duo combined for 31 of CSUB’s 71 points as the Roadrunners won their fourth-straight 71-69 over Idaho State (2-2) Saturday night at the Icardo Center.
The Bengals and ‘Runners traded rallies all game long with both teams taking the momentum and the lead in a game that saw 13 lead changes and nine ties. Bakersfield again showcased their versatility by breaking through the Bengals’ zone defense and playing tough defense themselves to improve to 4-1 for the second time under head coach Rod Barnes.

New Mexico State 77, UTEP 68
EL PASO, Texas -(AP) K.C. Ross-Miller pumped in a career-high 26 points and Daniel Mullings added 17 as New Mexico State swept its I-10 rivalry series with Texas-El Paso with a 77-68 win Saturday night.
Ross-Miller's previous career high was a 16-point effort at Idaho in January. Against the Miners he was 6 of 10 shooting from the field and 3 of 4 from 3-point range. Mullings was just 5 of 13 from the floor and connected on 6 of 9 free-throw attempts, finishing a point under his season average. Tshilidzi Nephawe added 11 points and 11 rebounds for the Aggies.

Grand Canyon 78, Lamar 69
SALT LAKE CITY-(GCU Media Relations) Grand Canyon's win over Savannah State last night was its first in nearly 22 years over a Division I opponent. It took less than 24 hours to pick up the second after a 78-69 win over Lamar at the Jon M. Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
With the win GCU moved its record to .500 at 3-3. Lamar fell to 1-5.
"Our expectation was to come into this weekend and play well and to get two wins is big for our program," said head coach Dan Majerle. "We played really well in the first half and once again weathered a storm starting off the second half. We received contributions up and down our roster and I'm proud of the guys."

Columbia 65, Idaho 60
PORTLAND –(UI Media Relations) The Idaho men’s basketball team was whistled for 28 fouls, including 21 in the second half, and never found its rhythm in a 65-60 loss to Columbia in its final game of the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic in Portland on Saturday night.
The Vandals trailed by as many as 14 points in the second half before scurrying to cut the deficit to just three at 63-60 after Sekou Wiggs banked in a 3-pointer with 11 seconds left. But Columbia’s Grant Mullins buried a pair of free throws on the other end to make it a 65-60 advantage with seven seconds to play,

Pepperdine 58, Utah Valley 53
MALIBU, Calif. –(UVU Media Relations) Tied at 46 with just over two minutes to go, Pepperdine was able to outlast Utah Valley University down the stretch, winning 58-53, on Saturday at Firestone Fieldhouse.
Deadlocked for the ninth time on the night at 46-46, Brendan Lane put the Waves (4-1) up for good with a bucket and Jeremy Major extended it to a four-point lead a possession later.
Despite a late push that included a Hayes Garrity layup and three, the Waves converted on 8-for-9 free throws in the final minute to seal the win.
