Grand Canyon 67, North Texas 65 (OT)
The Antelopes overcame a 17-point second half deficit to defeat North Texas 67-65 in overtime at The Super Pit Tuesday. With the victory, Grand Canyon improves to 5-0 on the season, its best start in program history. North Texas drops to 3-3 on the year with the loss.
The Antelopes shot 35 percent from the field, 24 percent from three-point range and 64 percent from the free throw line on the game. The Mean Green connected on 40 percent from the floor, 40 percent from beyond the arc and 69 percent from the charity stripe. GCU won the rebounding battle, 44-41.
Kaitlyn Petersen led GCU with a career-high 23 points. Judy Jones had 20 points, while Johnna Brown recorded her team-leading fourth double-double of the season with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Jones also grabbed five steals in the game.
Missouri 78, Kansas City 69
The Kangaroos held a 38-37 halftime lead but could not hold on, falling 78-69 to Missouri on Tuesday night at Mizzou Arena. With the loss, Kansas City falls to 0-5 on the season.
The 'Roos shot 42 percent from the field, 39 percent from three-point range and 77 percent from the free throw line on the game. The Tigers connected on 42 percent from the floor, 25 percent from downtown and 79 percent from the line. Kansas City out-rebounded Missouri 37-36, but committed 21 turnovers in the loss.
Eilise O'Connor led the ‘Roos with a season-high 27 points, seven rebounds, four assists and four steals.
San Diego 74, Idaho 64
The Vandals were outscored 46-33 in the second half en route to a 74-64 loss at San Diego Tuesday. Idaho drops to 3-2 on the year with the loss, while the Toreros improve to 5-0.
The Vandals shot 38 percent from the field, 29 percent from three-point range and 86 percent from the free throw line on the game. USD connected on 49 percent from the floor, 33 percent from beyond the arc and 67 percent from the charity stripe on the game.
Stacey Barr finished with her second double-double in as many games, totaling 14 points and 11 rebounds. Alyssa Charlston added 13 points, while Christina Salvatore had 11 and Connie Ballestero tallied 10.
Purdue Calumet 68, Chicago State 62
The Cougars fell 68-62 to Purdue Calumet Tuesday at the Jones Convocation Center. Chicago State drops to 1-5 on the season with the loss.
The Cougars shot 41 percent from the field, 22 percent from three-point range and 89 percent from the free throw line on the game. The Peregrines connected on 38 percent from the floor, 30 percent from downtown and 73 percent from the charity stripe. Chicago State edged Purdue Calumet on the boards, 40-39.
Chanel Wilson-Stewart scored a career-high 19 points, while Paris Williams posted her fifth career double-double with 19 points and a team-high 13 rebounds.
