Seattle U 3, Idaho 1

Moscow, Idaho-(SU Media Relations) Despite Idaho (4-15-0, 4-8-0 WAC) scoring in the first minute of play, Seattle University women’s soccer (15-2-2, 12-0-0 WAC) defeated the Vandals, 3-1, to complete their perfect 12-0 record in Western Athletic Conference play. As the WAC Regular Season Champions, Seattle U enters next weekend’s WAC Tournament as the No. 1 seed. Currently on a 13-game winning streak, the Redhawks recorded 10 shutouts throughout the regular season.

“I continue to be impressed with our team,” said head coach Julie Woodward. “Their character really came through today as we were down early in not ideal playing conditions after a long day of travel. I am extremely proud of their accomplishments and I am looking forward to a couple practices before we head off to the conference tournament.”

New Mexico State 2, Bakersfield 1 (2OT)

LAS CRUCES, N.M. –(NMSU Media Relations) The New Mexico State soccer team ended the 2013 season with a 2-1 win in double overtime over Cal State Bakersfield on Sunday, Nov. 3. NM State snapped its four game losing skid and concluded the season with a 5-13-2 record.

“This was a very important win for us. Without having the playoffs to play for, it was about not letting those six seniors leave without getting another victory. That’s something that we deserved several times over the last three or four weeks,” head coach Blair Quinn said. “It was very important to me that we didn’t let them to leave without that good taste in their mouths and we found a way to find that second goal in the game that we have been looking for.”

Kansas City 3, Utah Valley 0

Kansas City, Mo. –(UMKC Media Relations) In its last home game of the 2013 season, Kansas City turned in a banner performance on Sunday, knocking off Utah Valley 3-0 on the strength of a pair of Taylor Bare goals.

A group of seniors that has led the program from the basement of the Summit League to the upper echelon of the Western Athletic Conference put their talent on full display. With Bare and defender Sarah Shaughnessy tying a school record for games played (76), the team took aim at extending a few additional marks.
