Bakersfield 61, Northern Arizona 50

FRESNO, Calif.-(CSUB Media Relations) Issiah Grayson (R-Sr., Atlanta, Ga., Southern Idaho CC) scored 20 second-half points including seven straight midway through the second half as the senior guard helped the Roadrunners overcome a six-point halftime deficit en route to their fifth straight win, 61-50 over Northern Arizona Friday night in the opening round of the Fresno State Classic in Fresno.

The ‘Runners trailed 28-22 at half and were shooting just 8-of-22 from the field while also allowing the Lumberjacks (2-4) penetration baskets and offensive rebounds. Bakersfield was also whistled for 12 first-half fouls allowing Northern Arizona to convert 10-of-14 from the charity stripe.

Grand Canyon 91, San Diego Christian 61

Phoenix, Ariz.--(GCU Media Relations) The Grand Canyon University men's basketball team came out shooting 52.0 percent from the floor in the first half to build a 14-point lead and never looked back, cruising to a 91-61 victory over visiting San Diego Christian tonight at GCU Arena. The 91 points matched the most scored by the Antelopes this season, as they also did so on Nov. 16 against Western New Mexico, as the squad won their third consecutive game.

GCU shot a season-best 57.7 percent from the field on the night (30-for-52) and held the 37-27 advantage in rebounds, including 27 defensive boards. The 'Lopes came out even hotter in the second half, shooting a blistering 63.0 percent (17-for-27).

Eastern Washington 82, Seattle U 75

Cheney, Wash.- (SU Media Relations) The Seattle University men’s basketball team overcame an early deficit, but Eastern Washington took care of the ball and made its shots to defeat the Redhawks, 82-75, Friday night at Reese Court.

Down by five two minutes into the second half, Seattle U turned the score around with a 10-0 scoring run, including back-to-back steals by Clarence Trent (Tacoma, Wash.) that resulted in a layup for him and a three-point play for Shore Adenekan (London, England). The Redhawks extended their lead to six at 52-46 on a three-pointer by Isiah Umipig (Federal Way, Wash.), but Eastern Washington responded with its own long distance basket from Tyler Harvey.
