DENVER — Wyoming’s Adam Kalms and Bakersfield’s Tyler Greenwald have been named the Western Athletic Conference Men’s Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively, for October 28-November 3.
Kalms, a junior from Marmong Point, Australia (St. Francis Xavier's HS), won both individual events he competed in against Air Force and was a member of two winning relays on Saturday. He opened the meet with a win in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 49.56 (altitude adjusted), the fourth fastest in Wyoming history. He then added a victory in the 100 butterfly with another altitude adjusted time of 49.34, the fastest in the WAC this season. Kalms was a member of the 200-yard medley and 400 free relay teams that earned wins. His leadoff time in the 100 free is another WAC season-best time of 44.81 (altitude adjusted). Wyoming won the meet, 179-121.
Greenwald, a freshman from Henderson, Nev. (Coronado HS), won both the 1-meter and 3-meter events in a dual meet at Fresno Pacific on Saturday. Greenwald scored 268.75 on the 1-meter and 255.90 on the 3-meter to help the Roadrunners to a 194-89 win.
