Seattle U 66, Pacific Lutheran 38
SEATTLE-(SU Media Relations) Coming off fall quarter finals, the Seattle University men’s basketball team showed some rust, especially offensively, but the Redhawks were able to stifle Pacific Lutheran’s scoring chances on their way to a 66-38 victory over the Lutes Sunday afternoon at KeyArena at Seattle Center.
Brandon Lester scored Pacific Lutheran’s first five points to give the Lutes a two-point lead three minutes into the game, but Seattle U responded with 12 unanswered points over the next four minutes, featuring layups by Clarence Trent (Tacoma, Wash.) and Deshaun Sunderhaus (Conyers, Ga.) as well as three-pointers from Emerson Murray (Vancouver, B.C.) and Isiah Umipig (Federal Way, Wash.).

DePaul 77, Chicago State 70 (OT)
ROSEMONT, Ill. - (CSU Media Relations) Chicago State limited DePaul to just one field goal over the final 10 minutes of regulation to help force overtime on Sunday (Dec. 15) at Allstate Arena. But in extra time DePaul outscored Chicago State 15-8 to win 77-70. The Blue Demons benefited from a 29-of-40 to 8-of-13 free throw advantage in the contest.
It was all Cougars early, with a three-quarters court trap forcing DePaul into early mistakes. The Cougars turned Blue Demon turnovers into a lead as large as nine at 15-6. However DePaul followed by turning up the defensive backcourt pressure themselves. DePaul switched a 19-11 CSU lead to a 27-21 DePaul advantage thanks to a 16-2 run. The Blue Demons took a 38-32 advantage to the break.

TCU 57, Texas-Pan American 48
FORT WORTH –(UTPA Media RelationsP) The University of Texas-Pan American Broncs men's basketball led late, but the Texas Christian University Horned Frogs closed the game on a 17-3 run to beat the Broncs 57-48 on Sunday at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum.
The Broncs (4-8) led 45-40 after a layup by freshman LJ McIntosh with 6:35 remaining. Kyan Anderson hit a free throw, Charles Hill Jr. made a layup, Brandon Parrish hit two pairs of free throws, Karviar Shepherd made a layup, Parrish hit another free throw and Anderson made a layup as the Horned Frogs (6-3) scored 12-straight points to take a 52-45 lead with 1:30 to go. The Horned Frogs made 5-of-6 free throws down the stretch to seal the game.

USC 63, Bakersfield 59
LOS ANGELES, Calif.—(CSUB Media Relations) USC (7-3) made 10 free throws in the final 3:23 of the second half to overcome a Bakersfield (6-5) lead to defeat the Roadrunners 63-59.
The score was tied at 28 at halftime. Both teams played strong defense as the ‘Runners held the Trojans without a basket for the final 4:01 of the frame. USC did not allow a CSUB basket over the final 5:05 of the first half. Bakersfield had three more field goals than the Trojans (11-8), but USC went to the free throw line 10 more times (16-6).
Trailing 35-32 early in the second half, the Roadrunners mounted a 10-0 run highlighted by a pair of three-pointers from Issiah Grayson (R-Sr., Atlanta, Ga., College of Southern Idaho) three-pointers. With CSUB leading 42-36, the Trojans called timeout with just over 15 to play and responded with a 10-4 run to tie the game at 46 four minutes later.
