Kansas City 70, San Francisco 62 (OT)
The Kangaroos picked up their first road win of the season, outscoring San Francisco 14-6 in the overtime period to take a 70-62 win Wednesday night at War Memorial Gymnasium. With the win, Kansas City improves to 4-7 on the season. The Dons fall to 4-6 on the year with the loss.
The 'Roos shot 41 percent from the field, 32 percent from three-point range and 65 percent from the free throw line on the game. USF connected on 37 percent from the floor, 28 percent from downtown and 56 percent from the charity stripe. The Dons dominated the boards, 51-34, but committed 24 turnovers in the loss.
Eilise O’Connor led Kansas city with a season-high 30 points, while Kim Nezianya added 11 points and 10 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season, scoring her 1,000th career point in the process. She also added three steals and two blocks.
Texas-Pan American 75, UT Arlington 63
The Broncs tied for the best start in program history with a 75-63 victory over UT Arlington Wednesday at the UTPA Fieldhouse. Texas-Pan American improves to 6-4 on the season with the win, the fourth time the Broncs have had six wins through 10 games.
The Broncs shot 39 percent from the field, 38 percent from three-point range and 73 percent from the free throw line on the game. The Mavs connected on 45 percent from the floor, 47 percent from beyond the arc and 75 percent from the line. UTPA made a season-high 11 three-pointers, the fourth-highest single-game total in program history. The Broncs were out-rebounded 37-28.
Shawnte' Goff led all players with a career-high 25 points, including seven three-pointers, which ties for the fourth-highest single-game total in program history. Jasmine Thompson also set a new career-high in scoring, with 22 points to go with five rebounds and a career-high tying three steals.
UC Irvine 75, New Mexico State 52
The Aggies fell 75-52 at UC Irvine Wednesday evening. With the loss, New Mexico State drops to 3-7 on the season. The Anteaters improve to 6-5 on the year with the win.
The Aggies shot 37 percent from the field, 35 percent from three-point range and just 53 percent from the free throw line on the game. UCI connected on 42 percent from the floorm 33 percent from downtown and 76 percent from the charity stripe. The Anteaters dominated the boards, 49-28, including 19-4 on the offensive side.
Moriah Mack recorded a career-high 14 points, while Sasha Weber added 12 and Danesia Williamson scored 10.
