Wichita State 69, Texas-Pan American 40
The Broncs fell 69-40 to the host Shockers to close out the Wichita State Winter Classic Sunday afternoon. With the loss, Texas-Pan American evens its record at 6-6 on the year. Wichita State improves to 9-2 with the win.
UTPA shot 34 percent from the field, 36 percent from three-point range and 55 percent from the free throw line on the game. Wichita State connected on 43 percent from the floor, 37 percent from downtown and 77 percent from the charity stripe on the game. The Shockers edged the Broncs on the boards, 36-34 and capitalized on 25 UTPA turnovers.
Jasmine Thompson led UTPA with 10 points, while Alexandria Hill added eight. Cherrell Price grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.
