Grand Canyon 54, Hawai‘i 51
The Antelopes won their fifth straight game, defeating Hawai‘i 54-51 Monday afternoon at Grand Canyon Arena. With the win, Grand Canyon improves to 10-2 on the season. The Rainbow Wahine fall to 6-6 on the year with the loss.
The Antelopes shot 33 percent from the field, 22 percent from three-point range and 62 percent from the free throw line on the game. Hawai‘i connected on 32 percent from the floor, 21 percent from downtown and 71 percent from the charity stripe. The Rainbow Wahine dominated the boards, 50-32, but committed 23 turnovers in the loss.
Judy Jones led GCU with 12 points and 12 rebounds for her WAC-leading fifth double-double of the season. Johnna Brown added 11 points, while Deanna Daniels and Justine Johnson had eight apiece. Kaitlyn Petersen dished out seven assists, while Daniels nabbed five steals and Brown had four.
Cal State Fullerton 63, New Mexico State 52
The Aggies fell 63-52 to Cal State Fullerton at Titan Gym Monday night. With the loss, New Mexico State drops to 3-8 on the season. The Titans improve to 3-8 on the year with the victory.
NM State shot 43 percent from the field, 32 percent from three-point range and 67 percent from the free throw line on the game. CSF connected on 48 percent from the floor, 50 percent from beyond the arc and 58 percent from the line. The Titans edged the Aggies on the boards, 30-28.
Vanessa Garner led NM State with 15 points, while Sasha Weber added 14 points. Moriah Mack grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.
