New Mexico State 82, South Alabama 64
LAS CRUCES, N.M. –(NMSU Media Relations) The New Mexico State men’s basketball team extended its winning streak to four games with an 82-64 win over South Alabama, Saturday, Dec. 28 in the Pan American Center. The Aggies move to 11-5 on the season, while South Alabama falls to 6-7 overall.
The Aggies shot 63.5 percent from the field on the night, going 3-of-8 from behind the 3-point arc. Four Aggies were in double digits, as Daniel Mullings led all scorers with 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting. D.K. Eldridge had a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds, while K.C. Ross-Miller also recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 assists. Tshilidzi Nephawe added 12 points for NM State.

Bakersfield 61, Idaho State 57
POCATELLO, Idaho-(CSUB Media Relations) With their last three losses all by five or fewer points, the Bakersfield Roadrunners found a way to overcome that hurdle Saturday night sinking two key baskets inside the final minute of play while finishing their non-conference schedule with a 61-57 win over Idaho State at Holt Arena.
The win improves Bakersfield to 7-7 this season as they played their final game before entering Western Athletic Conference play for the first time Saturday, Jan. 4 against Utah Valley.

Utah Valley 75, Tennessee Tech 66
OREM, Utah –(UVU Media Relations) Utah Valley University wrapped up its non-conference schedule with a 75-66 win over Tennessee Tech on Saturday at the UCCU Center. UVU (6-7) built a 16-point halftime lead and rode that advantage to earn a split of the season series with TTU (7-8).
Holton Hunsaker led the way with 22 points and six assists and moved into third place all-time on UVU’s NCAA scoring list, ahead of Ronnie Price. Mitch Bruneel adding 16 points on 6-for-8 shooting added Hayes Garrity scored 13 off the bench for UVU.

Montana 72, Idaho 71
MOSCOW, Idaho –(UI Media Relations) The Idaho men’s basketball team did nearly everything right against Montana on Saturday afternoon, but a poor performance at the free throw line cost Idaho the victory, falling 72-71 to the Grizzlies.
Idaho (6-8) shot 48 percent (25-of-52) from the field, held Montana (5-4) to a 43.5 percent clip, and dominated the paint with a 42-24 rebounding advantage, a 38-24 advantage in points in the paint, and a 15-3 advantage in second-chance points. But Montana went 18-for-18 at the free throw line in the second half while Idaho missed 10 second-half free throws, going 13-for-23 at the stripe.

South Dakota State 65, Kansas City 60
Kansas City, Mo. -(UMKC Media Relations_ Kansas City had the ball with nine seconds left and were down one point to South Dakota State on Saturday night, but it failed to convert and couldn't overcome costly mistakes, falling 65-60.
The ‘Roos (3-9) trailed by five with a minute left in the game, but got back-to-back steals and buckets to cut the margin to 61-60 with 31 seconds left. South Dakota State (8-7) missed the front end of a 1-and-1 on the ensuing possession though, and UMKC got the ball to the other side of the court before calling a timeout with nine seconds on the clock. The ‘Roos never got a shot off, as freshman Martez Harrison was called for a questionable offensive foul 18 feet from the basket with 3.5 seconds left. He was whistled for a technical foul after the play (his second of the game), and South Dakota State hit all four of its free throws to seal it.
