Chattanooga 69, Grand Canyon 64
Chatanooga, Tenn.-(GCU Media Relations) The Grand Canyon University men's basketball team (5-7) overcame a slow start to erase a 13-point deficit in their first game at the 24th Annual Dr. Pepper Classic in Chattanooga, Tenn., but eventually fell to host Tennessee-Chattanooga (5-8) tonight, 69-64, at The McKenzie Arena.
The Mocs will have now played in 23 championship games in the tournament and boast a 39-8 record in the event.
The loss was the fourth straight for the Antelopes, who saw Killian Larson collect yet another double-double, his ninth, with 22 points and 13 rebounds. Daniel Alexander also picked up a double-double, his first of the season, with 12 points and 10 rebounds, with the rebound total marking a new career-high. Jerome Garrison also scored in double-figures with 13 points.

Duquesne 88, Texas-Pan American 69
EDINBURG –(UTPA Media Relations) Sophomore Shaquille Hines scored a career-high 27 points, but the University of Texas-Pan American Broncs men's basketball team fell to the Duquesne University Dukes 88-69 on Sunday at the UTPA Fieldhouse.
In the highest scoring output by an individual for the Broncs (4-10) this season, Hines hit a career-high 12 field goals in a career-high 22 attempts. He also recorded his first multi-three-pointer game, with three on a career-high six attempts. Graduate student Javorn Farrell was close behind, scoring 20 points on 8-of-18 shooting. He hit a career-high tying three three-pointers on a career-high eight attempts. Farrell dished out a season-high tying six assists, posted a career-high three blocks and tied his career-high with four steals in a career-high 40 minutes.

Creighton 90, Chicago State 58
OMAHA –(CSU Media Relations) Creighton and Chicago State combined for 26 successful 3-pointers on Sunday (Dec. 29) at the CenturyLink Center in downtown Omaha. The Bluejays rode their hot touch from beyond the arc to a 90-58 victory over Chicago State.
The Cougars' 10 3-pointers matched a season-high for the Cougars. They also made 10 in a victory over Southern Illinois Nov. 30.
Two-time first team All-American Doug McDermott connected on his first four 3-point attempts to help push Creighton to a double-digit lead at 24-12 six minutes into the contest. The Cougars responded with a 14-3 run over the game's next six minutes. The run featured three 3-pointers by Chicago State's Quinton Pippen (Hamburg, Ark./Hamburg). Junior Clarke Rosenberg (Skokie, Ill./Evanston Township)' sunk a pair of free throws for the last points of the first half to put the Cougars down seven points, 45-38, at the break.
