The Cougars fell 77-63 to Loyola Chicago Tuesday afternoon at the Jones Convocation Center. With the loss, Chicago State drops to 2-10 on the year. Loyola improves to 4-8 on the season with the win.
The Cougars shot 40 percent from the field, 21 percent from three-point range and 54 percent from the free throw line on the game. The Ramblers connected on 53 percent from the floor, 17 percent from downtown and 81 percent from the charity stripe. Loyola dominated the boards, 41-27.
Layne Murphy paced Chicago State with 15 points and 10 rebounds for her first double-double of the season and third of her career. Chanel Wilson-Stewart and Pariso Williams added 11 points each.
