Barry Britt and
Matt Sullivan were named the Western Athletic Conference Men's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for the week of Feb. 11-17.
Britt, a senior from Hampton, New Brunswick (Georgia State), posted a big career best in the mile run on Friday at the Idaho Collegiate. He ran a five-second career best of 4:07.33 in the event to finish fourth. His time is the fastest in the WAC this season by more than four seconds. It's the fastest by a WAC runner since 2010 and the fastest by an Idaho runner since 1998.
Sullivan, a sophomore from Caldwell, Idaho (Caldwell H.S.), became the third member of Idaho's 17-foot club in the pole vault on Friday at the Idaho Collegiate. He had a first-attempt clearance of 17-0.75 (5.20m) to win the competition and move into a tie for second in the WAC so far this season in the event. The mark is the third-best in Idaho history and is tied for 43rd in the NCAA so far this season.
