DENVER - (DU Media Relations) University of Denver senior guard Chase Hallam (Mesquite, Texas) was voted to the Capital One Academic All-District 7 Team for the third-straight year, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced today.
Hallam, an accounting major with a 3.9 cumulative GPA, has earned Academic All-District in all three seasons in which he has been eligible. Hallam earned a spot on the Sun Belt Conference Commissioner's List each of his first three seasons, compiling a cumulative GPA over 3.5 every year.
Denver's lone senior, Hallam was named College Sports Madness WAC Player of the Week for Jan. 7-13. Hallam is currently second on DU's all-time career steals list (171), third in three-point percentage (.434), ninth in three-pointers made with (145) and 24th on DU's all-time scoring list (1,094), just six points behind former teammate Rob Lewis (2007-12) for 23rd place.
Hallam is ranked fourth in the WAC this season in steals (1.95), sixth in three-point percentage (.410), seventh in both field goal percentage (.489) and three-pointers made (1.68), and 15th in blocked shots (0.63).
Hallam returned to the starting lineup after missing the final three games of the 2011-12 season due to a back injury. Aside from those three games, Hallam has started all 109 games during his DU career. A 2010-11 All-Sun Belt Second Team selection, Hallam averaged 10.1 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.5 steals in his first three seasons.
