Hannah Kiser and Texas State's
Jalisa Hall were named the Western Athletic Conference Women's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for the week of Jan. 28 - Feb. 3.
Kiser, a junior from Wentachee, Wash. (Wenatchee H.S.), won the women's mile on Friday at the Vandal Indoor by a 21-second margin. Her time of 4:45.01 is the fastest in the WAC this season by more than a seven-second margin and ranks 37th in the NCAA so far this season. Kiser is the only WAC athlete to go faster than 4:50 in the mile this season and she's done it in both of her races over that distance.
Hall, a senior from Brownwood, Texas (Brownwood H.S.), won the women's weight throw with the second-best mark in school history with a throw of 59-05.00 (18.11m). Hall won the weight throw at the Texas Tech Raider Open by .38m. Texas Tech and North Texas competed in the field of 55.
Other track nominees included: New Mexico State junior Brianna Cromartie, Texas State junior Chelsea Stephen, UT Arlington senior Shannon Reynolds, UTSA junior Alyssa Diaz and Utah State freshman Tylee Newman.
