Texas State 13, Louisiana Tech 6


SAN MARCOS, Texas – (TXST Media Relations) Texas State completed a sweep of Louisiana Tech with an impressive 13-6 victory at Bobcat Ballpark Sunday. The Bobcats racked up 14 hits with two homers and a huge fifth inning to push past the Bulldogs and stay in the hunt at the top of the Western Athletic Conference. Texas State improved to 8-4 in conference play.
 
Austin O'Neal knocked his second home run in as many days, this one a three-run shot in the fifth inning to put the Bobcats up for good. Before that, it was Andrew Stumph showing up for a big moment for the third consecutive game. Down two with two runners on, he sent a rocket line drive down the left line to tie the game. The two combined for five hits and seven RBI on the day. They teamed up for 12 RBI and 11 hits for the series.

UT Arlington 9, San Jose State 7


ARLINGTON, Texas - (UTA Media Relations) The Mavericks completed the weekend sweep of Western Athletic Conference opponent San Jose State with a 9-7 win Sunday at Clay Gould Ballpark. UT Arlington improves to 20-15 overall and 9-3 in conference.

"The fact that we're now tied for first will help a lot as we face Seattle at their place next weekend," UTA head coach Darin Thomas said. "We just need to keep playing."

Sacramento State 6, New Mexico State 4


LAS CRUCES, N.M. — (SAC Media Relations) Nathan Lukes' bases-loaded triple kick started Sacramento State's four-run seventh inning  and lifted the team to a 6-4 victory at New Mexico State on Sunday afternoon.

With the win, the Hornets improved to 21-15 overall and 7-5 in Western Athletic Conference play. The team has now won six of its last seven and nine of its last 11 games. It also won a series (2-1) at New Mexico State for the first time since 2007.

CSU Bakersfield 6, UTSA 5


BAKERSFIELD, Calif.-- (CSUB Media Relations) Frank Martinez (Sr., Riverside, Calif., East LA College) smacked a two-out, two-RBI single with the bases loaded to give CSU Bakersfield (24-13, 9-3 WAC) a 6-5 series sweep over UTSA (19-16, 4-7 WAC) Sunday afternoon.

For the third consecutive day UTSA took the lead first when Jesse Baker’s sac fly plated Tony Ramirez. In the top of the second. Kevin Younger (Sr., Bakersfield, Calif., Liberty HS) tied the score when he doubled in Cael Brockmeyer (Jr., Vineyard Haven, Mass., Avon Old Farms HS) in the bottom of the third.
