GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas—The championship game of Pool A in the Western Athletic Conference between Bakersfield (37-21) and UTSA (33-23) was suspended in the fifth inning due to weather Friday night at QuikTrip Park. The game in which the winner advances to Sunday's WAC Tournament title game will resume Saturday morning at 10 a.m. (CDT).

John Welborn led off the top of the fifth with a double for UTSA, but at 8:04 p.m. (CDT) play was suspended due to the elements. After a delay of nearly two hours, the decision was made to delay the game to Saturday.

UTSA is out hitting CSUB 6-3 through four complete innings. Oscar Sanay (Jr., Chula Vista, Calif., Bonita Vista HS) is 2-for-2 so far for Bakersfield.
