Texas State's Puisite Named WGCA All-American

San Marcos, Texas – Texas State women's golfer Krista Puisite added to an ever-growing awards list this week, being named a Women's Golf Coaches Association Honorable Mention All-American. The award is the latest list of honors that includes CoSIDA Academic All-District and First-Team All-WAC among others.

Krista finished the season second in the country with 119 birdies, and is 13th in scoring average at 72.36. At the NCAA East Regional she was just three shots off qualifying for an at-large individual berth in the NCAA Finals in Georgia. She finished tied for 18th at even-par.

Krista has won a Texas State season-record three tournaments this year, and a career-record of five during her time in San Marcos.

The Women's Golf Coaches Assocation All-American team is made up of 40 student-athletes. The top 60 players in the country are submitted to the WGCA Committee and criteria used to make selections include head-to-head competition among the nominees, comparison with common opponents, scoring average, placing in tournaments and strength of schedule.
