TUCSON, Ariz.--CSU Bakersfield senior pitcher Jeff McKenzie and UT Arlington junior outfielder Matt Shortall were both named Louisville Slugger NCAA Division I All-Americans by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper. Both McKenzie and Shortall received third team honors.

McKenzie becomes the first Roadrunner baseball player to earn All-American honors. McKenzie, the 2013 Western Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year, won a school record 13 games (13-2) in leading Bakersfield to the WAC regular season title. McKenzie was named first team All-Conference after being chose WAC Pitcher of the Week four times in 2013. The 6-0 lefty struck out 88 in 114.6 innings while only walking 24.

Shortall led the WAC regular-season co-champions in several offensive categories. A designated hitter for much of the season, Shortall hit .362, good for third in the WAC, and had 54 RBI. Shortall led the team with eight home runs, including three in the team's final regular-season series at Sacramento State. Shortall has garnered several honors for this performance this past season. The Dallas native was named College Sports Madness fourth-team All-American Team and WAC Field Player of the Year, first-team All-WAC and a semifinalist for the Olson Award.
