Seattle U 2, Boise State 1 (OT)
SEATTLE, Wash.-(SU Media Relations) Less than two minutes before the horn of the first overtime, Natasha Howe (Mission Viejo, Calif.) drove in her first collegiate goal to give Seattle University women’s soccer (2-1-0) the 2-1 victory over Boise State (1-2-0).
“We’re thrilled and we’re so happy that we were able to tuck away the win,” said head coach Julie Woodward. “Before the game, I told the team that I thought it was going to be a pretty evenly matched game and that, at the end of the day, it’d be a battle of wills. I’m super happy with our overtime performance because I think, at that point in the game, it’s not really about tactical moves, it’s just a matter of grinding it out. I’m super happy with the team and super happy Natasha [Howe] got a great goal in just her third collegiate game played. So I’m just super happy with the team and happy with the win.”

Valparaiso 1, Grand Canyon 0 (OT)
Valparaiso-(GCU Media Relations) Following a weather delay that postponed the game nearly three hours, the Grand Canyon University women's soccer team dropped a hard-fought, 1-0 overtime contest at Valparaiso on Brown Field in Valparaiso, Ind. The loss moved the Antelopes to 0-2 to open the season, while the Crusaders, who compete within the Horizon League, improved to 2-1.
"We played great," said head coach Stevie Gill. "We should have won the game in regulation, but our strikers are struggling to score goals. We are getting plenty of chances and not capitalizing on them. I thought our two central defenders, Martine Gjennestad and Jessica Valadez, as well as Cassie Beckwith in the midfield, were excellent tonight."
