Bakersfield 3, Charlotte 0
The Roadrunners opened the season with a 3-1 (25-17, 28-30, 25-15, 29-27) win over Charlotte at the Wildcat Classic in Davidson, N.C. Friday. Bakersfield hit .312 on the match, compared to the .227 of Charlotte. Debora Araujo posted a double-double of 16 kills and 18 digs, while Molly O'Hagan had a match-high 18 kills.

Bakersfield 3, Charleston Southern 0
The Roadrunners improved to 2-0 on the season with a sweep (25-13, 25-15, 25-16) of Charleston Southern Friday. The Roadrunners out-hit Charleston Southern .299 to .081. Araujo had a match-high 14 kills, while Mariah Alvidrez added 15 digs.

New Mexico State 3, Nevada 0
The Aggies swept past Nevada (25-21, 25-18, 25-12) at the Cal Molten Classic to open the season Friday. New Mexico State hit .257 compared to the .080 of the Wolf Pack. Lauren Loerch led all players with 11 kills on .476 hitting.

Idaho 3, Montana State 0
The Vandals opened the season with a sweep (25-15, 25-19, 25-21) of Montana State Friday at the Wyoming Invitational. Idaho hit .398 on the match and held Montana State to .176. Alyssa Schultz paced the Vandals with 12 kills on .579 hitting to go along with four blocks.

Wyoming 3, Idaho 2
The Vandals dropped to 1-1 on the season with a five-set (25-23, 28-26, 21-25, 16-25, 12-15) loss to host Wyoming Friday night. The Cowgirls out-hit Idaho .281 to .233. Schultz posted a double-double of 17 kills and 10 blocks, as did Meredith Coba, who had 45 assists and 14 digs in the loss.

Seattle U 3, Texas Tech 0
The Redhawks opened the season with a sweep (25-20, 25-19, 25-22) of Texas Tech at the Wildcat Weekend Friday. Seattle U out-hit the Red Raiders .242 to .143. Martina Samadan paced the Redhawks with 12 kills on .455 hitting.

Weber State 3, Seattle U 0
The Redhawks fell to 1-1 on the season with a three-set loss (21-25, 20-25, 21-25) to host Weber State at the Wildcat Weekend Friday evening. Weber State out-hit Seattle U .317 to .171. Iris Ivanis led the Redhawks with 11 kills, while Samdan added 10.

New Mexico 3, Kansas City 0
The Kangaroos fell in straight sets (21-25, 27-29, 23-25) to New Mexico to open the season at the Arkansas Invitational Friday. UMKC hit .226 compared to the .300 of the Lobos. Sydney Crimmins and Jessica Hendin led the 'Roos with 13 kills apiece.

Kansas City 3, Northwestern State 0
The 'Roos evened their record at 1-1 with a sweep (25-20. 25-14, 25-20) of Northwestern State later in the day. UMKC out-hit Northwestern State .238 to .073 and out-blocked the Lady Demons 14-6. Crimmons paced the 'Roos with 10 kills, while Hendin had a match-high 16 digs.

Weber State 3, Grand Canyon 2
The Antelopes dropped their first Division I match in heartbreaking fashion, falling in five sets (25-23, 19-25, 25-16, 23-25, 9-15) to host Weber State at the Wildcat Weekend Friday. Jessica Posse posted a double-double of 26 assists and 11 digs, while Mackenzie Phelps had a match-high 36 digs.

Louisiana 3, Texas-Pan American 1
The Broncs fell in four sets (21-25, 17-25, 25-22, 19-25) to Louisiana at the Houston Baptist Tournament Friday. Texas-Pan American hit .104 on the match, compared to the .175 of Louisiana. Diara Reynolds led UTPA with eight kills, while Krysta Freitas posted a team-high 17 digs.

Arizona State 3, Utah Valley 0
The Wolverines opened the season with a three-set loss (21-25, 18-25, 10-25) to Arizona State at the LaQuinta Inn & Suites Invitational Friday. The Sun Devils out-hit Utah Valley .262 to .077. Macky Treano led the Wolverines with a double-double of 10 kills and 12 digs.

McNeese State 3, Chicago State 0
The Cougars dropped a three-set match (18-25, 18-25, 18-25) to McNeese State at the DePaul Invitational to open the season Friday. Valeria Desiderio paced Chicago State with 13 kills, while Mackenzie Lotter was just shy of a double-Ivandouble, finishing with 30 assists and nine digs.
