The Vandals defeated Drake in four sets (25-14, 30-28, 20-25, 26-24) at the Wyoming Invite Saturday. Idaho edged Drake .213 to .190 in hitting percentage. Katelyn Peterson led the Vandals with 14 kills, while Alyssa Schultz added 12.
Idaho 3, Stetson 1
The Vandals improved to 3-1 on the season with a four-set (25-19, 22-25, 25-17, 25-17) win over Stetson to close out the Wyoming Invite. Idaho hit .185 on the match and out-blocked the Hatters 14-6. Schultz and Jessica Hastriter had 13 kills each, while Jenna Ellis posted a match-high 28 digs.
Utah Valley 3, North Dakota State 0
The Wolverines swept past North Dakota State (25-14, 25-19, 25-19) Saturday afternoon at the La Quinta Inn & Suites Invitational. Utah Valley hit .429, compared to the .148 of the Bison. Macky Treanor led all platers with 20 kills on .571 hitting.
No. 24 Wichita State 3, Utah Valley 0
The Wolverines dropped the final match of the La Quinta Inn & Suites Invitational to No. 24 Wichita State in straight sets (22-25, 23-25, 19-25) Saturday. Utah Valley was out-hit .380 to .314. Treanor led the Wolverines with 16 kills, while Kalani Norris had a double-double of 14 kills and 10 digs.
Texas-Pan American 3, Omaha 0
The Broncs picked up their first win of the season, sweeping Omaha (25-21, 25-22, 25-23) at the Houston Baptist Tournament Saturday. UTPA edged Omaha in hitting, .202 to .200. Maria Kliefoth and Haley Durham led the Broncs with eight kills apiece.
Houston Baptist 3, Texas-Pan American 2
The Broncs fell in five sets (24-26, 25-19, 25-23, 12-25, 13-15) to host Houston Baptist in the final match of the Houston Baptist Tournament Saturday. UTPA hit .119 on the match, compared to the .196 of the Huskies. Diara Reynolds and ANjane Janda led the Broncs with 11 kills each.
California 3, New Mexico State 0
The Aggies fell in straight sets (16-25, 18-25, 19-25) to the host Bears at the Cal Molten Classic Saturday. Cal out-hit NM State .396 to .167 on the match. Lauren Loerch led the Aggies with 11 kills.
UC Santa Barbara 3, New Mexico State 2
New Mexico State fell to UC Santa Barbara in five sets (25-22, 20-25, 19-25, 25-17, 13-15) to close out the Cal Molten Classic Saturday night. NM State out-hit the Gauchos .217 to .138 and out-blocked them 13-7 in the loss. Desiree Scott led the Aggies with 15 kills on .440 hitting to go along with seven blocks.
Seattle U 3, UC Riverside 0
The Redhawks closed out the Wildcat Weekend with a sweep (25-13, 25-21, 25-17) of UC Riverside Saturday. Seattle U hit .411 on the match and out-blocked the Highlanders 10-1. Martina Samadan had 15 kills, while Iris Ivanis added 11 for the Redhawks.
Davidson 3, Bakersfield 2
After jumping out to a 2-0 lead, Bakersfield lost three straight sets to fall in five (25-22, 25-20, 19-25, 18-25, 14-16) to host Davidson at the Wildcat Classic Saturday. Davidson out-blocked the Roadrunners 17-5 on the match. Debora Araujo led all players with 24 kills to go along with 16 digs for a double-double.
Texas Tech 3, Grand Canyon 1
The Antelopes fell in four sets (20-25, 20-25, 25-22, 20-25) to Texas Tech to close out the Wildcat Weekend Saturday. Grand Canyon hit .199, compared to the .322 of the Red Raiders. Britta Forsythe and Hayleigh Friemoth had 11 kills each to lead the Antelopes. Friemoth added 12 digs for a double-double.
Arkansas 3, Kansas City 0
The Kangaroos closed out the Arkansas Invitational with a loss to the host Razorbacks (23-25, 22-25, 31-33) Saturday. UMKC out-blocked Arkansas 9-5, but was out-hit .228 to .172. Sydney Crimmins and Morgan Voorhes had nine kills each to lead the 'Roos.
DePaul 3, Chicago State 0
Chicago State fell in three sets (15-25, 13-25, 15-25) to the host Blue Demons at the DePaul Invitational Saturday. The Cougars were out-hit .082 to .353 on the match. Valeria Desiderio paced Chicago State with eight kills and nine digs.
Providence 3, Chicago State 1
Later in the day, the Cougars fell in four sets (16-25, 23-25, 25-16, 14-25) to Providence in their final match at the DePaul Invitational. Chicago State was out-hit .162 to .248 in the loss. Desiderio and Paula Sioto had 13 kills apiece to pace the Cougars.
