The ‘Roos (0-2-2) and Golden Hurricane (3-1-1) played an entertaining offensive match, with both squads creating opportunities. Junior forward Jordan Rideout had three shots in the first 10 minutes, forcing Tulsa to make saves on two of them.

Read Full ArticleEddie Sanchez had a goal and an assist and goalkeeper Jason Dodson made six saves as the Portland men's soccer team shutout the Air Force Falcons 4-0 Friday afternoon at Merlo Field. The Pilots even their record at 2-2 with the win, while Air Force drops to 0-4.
After a steady barrage of shots on the Air Force frame during the first half, Sanchez finally gave Portland a 1-0 lead in the 32nd minute. Matthew Coffey sparked the play when he sent a long ball forward that found Michael Escobar. Escobar then sent a one-touch chip into the box, where Sanchez finished from about 10 yards out past Air Force keeper Jake Schenk.

Defending national champion Indiana scored twice in less than minute in the first half and twice in a span of two minutes in the second as the Hoosiers (2-3) defeated Bakersfield (2-2) 4-1 Friday night.
A David Velasquez (R-Jr., Los Angeles, Calif., Locke HS) header at 23:21 of the first half off a Mario Ortiz (Fr., Los Angeles, Leuzinger HS) pass gave the Roadrunners a 1-0 advantage. Tommy Thompson tied the score in the 29th minute. 54 seconds later Jacob Bushue gave Indiana the lead with his second goal of the year.

The Grand Canyon University men's soccer team dropped a 2-1 contest to Stanford tonight at Laird Q. Cagan Stadium in Stanford, Calif. The Antelopes are now 1-3-1 overall, while the Cardinal improved to 2-1-1 on the season.
"We played very well at the beginning, we were organized and scored a nice goal on a ball from the midfield," said head coach Petar Draksin. "We defended with our hearts. We did get a bit disorganized at times, but I can't take away from them (Stanford). They worked hard, and they kept coming at us."

Ben Reiter scored the first goal of his collegiate career and the San Jose State men's soccer team earned a 1-1 draw against the Fresno Pacific Sunbirds on Friday evening in a non-conference match in Spartan Stadium.
Reiter, a freshman out of College Park High School in Pleasant Hill. Calif., was in perfect position when the ball rebounded off the post on a shot from Rory Knibbs. The ball came right to Reiter who placed it high in the top corner to give the Spartans a 1-0 advantage at the 24:35 mark.

Seattle University men’s soccer played Oregon State (4-1-0) to overtime, their second straight such contest, but the Redhawks fell, 2-1, on a golden goal by OSU’s Brenden Anderson.
“Our guys cannot be faulted for effort or commitment to the game,” said head coach Pete Fewing. “They really gave it everything they had and I was really proud of the effort. We have yet to get a win, but we played our best soccer tonight so far this year. Jake Feener has been great in goal and Miguel Gonzalez scored a terrific goal today. Three overtime games in our first five is part of the growing process.
