Utah Valley 2, UC Davis 1

OREM, Utah --(UVU Media Relations) Two early goals from Natalie Baker and Lexi Robison proved enough for Utah Valley University as it held off UC Davis, 2-1, in Sunday's non-conference finale at Clyde Field.

UVU (2-5-0) took a 2-0 lead early in the match behind Baker's tally in the 16th minute and Robison's strike in the 21st. What followed was almost 70 minutes of dedicated, and sometimes nervy, defending as the visiting Aggies (2-4-1) doubled up the Wolverines in total shots and even got a goal back in the 49th minute. Still, two scores proved enough for a UVU side that utilized nearly the entirety of its active roster in the match to claim its second win of the season and first in front of the home crowd at Clyde Field.

UNLV 1, Idaho 0 (2OT)

MOSCOW, Idaho—The Vandals played perhaps their best complete game Sunday against UNLV. Idaho totaled 12 shots in 109 minutes of play but fell just short to the Rebels on Guy Wicks Field, 1-0, in double overtime.

“I could not be more proud of the players today,” head coach Pete Showler said. “They went out and left nothing on the pitch. They worked hard for each other. Everybody worked their socks off. It is a cruel way to lose that game. I felt we deserved to get something from that game.”
