Utah Valley 2, Bakersfield 0

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -(UVU Media Relations) Less than 48 hours after picking up a win over Bakersfield in its first WAC contest, Utah Valley University repeated the feat on Sunday, sweeping the season series with a 2-0 victory. The win comes after Wolverines (4-5-0, 2-0-0) defeated CSUB (1-9-0, 0-2-0) by an identical 2-0 score on Friday in Orem.

Haley Curtis and Kali Stubbs scored for Utah Valley while Lauren Sack and the UVU defense notched the second straight shutout of the 'Runners.

"The girls battled hard and I'm very proud of how they stepped up and worked hard for this win," said head coach Brent Anderson. "The back line was solid again today, really forcing most of their shots to come from a distance. Lauren made a couple of critical saves in the second half that really kept the momentum in our favor."

Seattle U 4, Cal Poly 0

SEATTLE, Wash.-(SU Media Relations) Seattle University women’s soccer (4-2-2, 1-0-0 WAC) scored early and often as they defeated Cal Poly, 4-0 (4-4-0) in their final non-conference match of the season.
“I was really pleased with our game today,” said head coach Julie Woodward. “Most importantly, we got a shutout, which we hadn’t had in a few games. I was really happy defensively with how we played. Offensively, it was nice to put some goals in the back of the net early. Cal Poly is a good team; they’ve been scoring a lot of goals, so I thought it was a great win for us.”

Stephanie Verdoia (Salt Lake City, Utah) broke through in the 24th minute, as Kat Prati (Moorpark, Calif.) and Taylor Ritzman (Holladay, Utah) brought the ball down the right side, passing it to Verdoia who gave the Redhawks the 1-0 lead.
