Bakersfield 3, Seattle U 1
After dropping the first set, Bakersfield rallied to defeat Seattle U in four sets (13-25, 25-20, 25-22, 25-18) in its first-ever WAC match Thursday. The Roadrunners improve to 8-6 overall and 1-0 in the WAC with the win. The Redhawks drop to 3-13 on the season and 0-1 in conference play.

Seattle U out-hit Bakersfield .246 to .213 and both team had seven blocks on the match. The Roadrunners posted more kills (51-44), assists (46-40) and digs (41-34).

Debora Araujo led Bakersfield with a match-high 15 kills, while Kelsee Sawyer added 10. Mariah Alvidrez posted a match-high 14 digs, while Fernandez Goncalves finished with 31 assists and nine digs.

Kansas City 3, at Grand Canyon 2
In a very close match, Kansas City defeated Grand Canyon in five sets (29-27, 15-25, 25-23, 24-26, 15-10) in both teams' first-ever WAC match. The Kangaroos move to 7-6 overall and 1-0 in WAC play with the win. The Antelopes drop to 6-6 on the season and 0-1 in the league.

Grand Canyon out-hit Kansas City .215 to .196, but the Kangaroos had more kills (75-72) and assists (72-70). The Antelopes edged Kansas City in digs, 117-111.

Sydney Crimmins led Kansas City with 23 kills and 16 digs for her fifth double-double of the year. Jessica Hendin added a double-double of 15 kills and 20 digs, while Chloe Jarema and Emma Hagedorn posted 12 each, with Jarema tallying 10 digs for a double-double. Nicole Wemhoff also posted a double-double of 32 assists and 10 digs, while Taryn Miller had 37 digs.

Grand Canyon was paced by Kaitlynn Ausmus with 23 kills and 22 digs. Britta Forsythe added 23 kills, while Mackenzie Phelps posted a match-high 38 digs.


Utah Valley 3, Idaho 2
Utah Valley defeated Idaho in five sets (22-25, 25-22, 19-25, 25-21, 15-11) to pick up its first-ever WAC victory. With the win, the Wolverines improve to 7-8 overall and 1-0 in the WAC. The Vandals fall to 7-6 on the season and 0-1 in the conference.

The Wolverines edged the Vandals in hitting percentage, .174 to .169. Utah Valley also posted 14.5 blocks, compared to Idaho's 13.

Lauren Stringham had a career-high 18 kills and eight blocks, while Katie Fritzler finished with 10 kills. Brookelyn Hall had 38 assists, six kills, six digs and four blocks, and McKenna Tait put up a match- and season-high 27 digs.

Alyssa Schultz, Ashley Christmas and Jessica Hastriter each had 13 kills to pace the Vandals. Schultz also had eight blocks, while Meredith Coba dished out 43 assists.
