DENVER – Two Western Athletic Conference schools earned recognition after being ranked in the top 15 of their respective regional rankings by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Utah Valley appears in the men’s Mountain Region rankings, placing 12th for the second week in a row.
On the women’s side, Idaho moved up one spot to No. 14 in the West Region rankings, improving on the No. 15 position that the Vandals had held for the previous two weeks.
The WAC Cross Country Championship will take place in Seattle, Wash. on Saturday, November 2. The NCAA Division I Regional Championships will be held around the country Friday, November 15.
USTFCCCA Regional Cross Country Rankings are determined subjectively by a single member coach in each respective region. The regional representative is tasked with weighing returning team strength with current-season results in determining predicted team finishes at the NCAA Regional Championships.
