Chicago State 68, Indiana University Northwest 50
The Cougars closed out non-conference play with a 68-50 win over Indiana University Northwest at the Jones Convocation Center Wednesday. With the win, Chicago State improves to 3-12 on the season.
The Cougars shot 41 percent from the field, 13 percent from three-point range and 63 percent from the free throw line on the game. The RedHawks connected on 34 percent from the floor and 73 percent from the charity stripe, and were 0-for-9 from downtown. Indiana Northwest out-rebounded Chicago State 39-36, but committed 33 turnovers in the loss.
Layne Murphy led the Cougars with 16 points, while Tierra Williams posted a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds to go along with five assists and six steals. Chanel Wilson-Stewart added 11 points, while Jasmine Sanders nabbed seven steals.
