DENVER – Missouri-Kansas City’s Antoine Rozner and New Mexico State’s Camille Orito have been named the Western Athletic Conference Golfers of the Month for September.

Rozner, a junior from Paris, France (Lycee Jean de la Fontaine), had the best scoring average by any WAC player during the month of September (70.60). Rozner had a fourth place finish at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational at the Air Force Academy, Sept. 6-7. He shot a 7-under par 209 (68-70-71) to finish just three strokes behind the medalist. Last week, Rozner posted his fourth consecutive round below par to start the season in the first round of the Mark Simpson Invitational in Erie, Colo., and finished the tournament with an even par 144 (70-74). He helped the ‘Roos to their second lowest 36-hole tournament score in school history (574).

Orito, a sophomore from Fresno, Calif. (Clovis West HS), competed in two tournaments during the month, finishing in the top-10 in both. She opened September winning the Hobble Creek Fall Classic in Springville, Utah with a 1-over par 143 (70-73). Orito helped the Aggies to a first place finish in the 12-team field that included three other WAC schools. She then placed eighth at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate in Palm Desert, Calif., with an 11-over par 227 (75-75-77). Her five-round average of 74.00 was the best among all WAC players that competed in at least two tournaments during the month.

Other men nominated: Jin Park, Bakersfield; Brett Wilson, Grand Canyon; Brett Walker, New Mexico State; Joe Harvie, Seattle U; Nicolas Platret, Texas-Pan American; and Brayden Eriksen, Utah Valley.

Other women nominated: Fernanda Valdes Solis, Chicago State; Charlotte Jaengkit, Grand Canyon; Susan Kirschenman, UMKC; Amanda Beyke, Seattle U; Melissa Bernal, Texas-Pan American; and Kimberly Nyhus, Utah Valley.
