EDINBURG, Texas – (UMKC Media Relations) After two high profile wins earlier in the week against Missouri and New Mexico State, the Missouri-Kansas City volleyball team (18-3, 6-0) did not suffer a letdown on Saturday afternoon, taking down Texas-Pan American (5-16, 2-5) 3-0 at the UTPA Fieldhouse in Edinburg, Texas.
With the win, the ‘Roos extend their school record win streak to 14 matches and maintain the top spot in the WAC standings. The 18 wins, meanwhile, ranks as the second-most wins in school history, trailing only the 20 wins by the 1999 squad.
The ‘Roos were led offensively from the middle as Emma Hagedorn tallied nine kills, a .438 hitting percentage and six blocks, and Melissa Hartsel recorded seven kills, a .467 hitting percentage and six blocks. Sydney Crimmins added seven kills, five blocks and 11 digs, while Taryn Miller and Jessica Hendin finished with 19 and 10 digs, respectively.
The Broncs were led by redshirt senior Maria Kliefoth, who had six kills and seven blocks, and senior Diara Reynolds, who had six kills and four blocks.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – (NMSU Media Relations) The New Mexico State volleyball team got its third home sweep of a WAC opponent this season after defeating Chicago State, 25-13, 25-19, 25-15, on Saturday afternoon inside the Pan American Center.
The Aggies pick up their 11th win of the season (11-7) and move to 5-2 in WAC play. The Cougars remain winless in conference play at 0-7 and fall to 6-15 overall.
The Aggies held Chicago State to a .034 hitting percentage, the fifth time this season the conference leader in the category has held an opponent under a .100 hitting percentage. NM State, meanwhile, hit at a season-high .398 hitting percentage. The Aggies also out-blocked the Cougars 7-3.
Freshman outside hitter Kassandra Tohm led the NM State attack, tying a career-high with 12 kills while also setting a career high with a match-high .524 hitting percentage. Junior Gwen Murphy added nine kills while fellow middle hitter Sasha-Lee Thomas added another seven.
The Cougars were paced by Milica Zmiric with 10 kills, while Elli Woiowsky finished with a team-high nine digs.
Bakersfield 3, Utah Valley 2 (30-28, 25-20, 23-25, 17-25, 15-13) Recap | Stats
OREM, Utah – (CSUB Media Relations) Kelsee Sawyer recorded a career-high 30 kills and hit .443 to lead Bakersfield (9-11, 5-2 WAC) past Utah Valley 3-2 in WAC play Saturday afternoon.
Sawyer’s 30 kills are a WAC season high and are the second most by a Bakersfield player at the Division I level. Danika Youngblood recorded her eighth double-double of the year with 20 kills and 13 digs. Molly O’Hagan ended the day with 13 kills and five blocks. Luiza Martins registered her sixth double-double of the year with 67 assists and 15 digs. Martin’s 67 assists are the most by a WAC player this season and are the second most by a CSUB player at the Division I level.
Utah Valley (9-12, 4-3 WAC) was paced by Macky Treanor who earned a double-double of 17 kills and 10 digs. Kalani Norris had 14 kills with Cassie Wahlin going for 12 kills. Lauren Bakker was the fourth Wolverine with double-digit kills (11).
Seattle 3, Grand Canyon 1 (25-22, 33-31, 24-26, 25-21) Recap | Stats
SEATTLE – (SU Media Relations) Seattle University used a solid performance from junior Martina Samadan, combined with excellent defensive play by several players, to defeat Grand Canyon University, 3-1 (25-22, 33-31, 24-26, 25-21), Saturday afternoon in a WAC volleyball match at the Connolly Center.
Samadan earned a career-high 24 kills on 38 attempts, hitting .500 during the match, plus she earned an assist, a service ace, two digs and six total blocks. Iris Ivanis notched a double-double with 12 kills and 12 digs, as did Kerry Lane with 54 assists and a career-high 17 digs, most for the Redhawks in the contest.
Shannon Dugan and Natalie Tardy led the Lopes with double-doubles. Dugan had 19 kills and 12 digs, while Tardy had 19 kills and 11 digs. Mackenzie Phelps had a match-high 24 digs.
