ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – (NMSU Media Relations) The New Mexico State volleyball team lost in straight sets to state rival New Mexico on Thursday, 25-22, 25-19, 25-20, inside the Johnson Center on the UNM campus.

A couple of days after hitting at their highest percentage all season versus Chicago State (.398), the Aggies (11-8) were held to their second-lowest percentage of the season after finishing with a .058 hitting percentage.  The Lobos (12-9), meanwhile, finished with a .227 percentage.

For the one of the few times all season, NM State was also out-blocked in a match after UNM won the blocking game 10.5 to nine.

Freshman Jordan Abalos led the Aggie attack with seven kills while setters Taylor Livoti and Ashlyn Brown both finished with double-digit assists for the second-straight match, Livoti with 17 and Brown with 10.

Defensively, libero Hannah Walker had a match-high 14 digs and junior Gwen Murphy had a total of eight blocks, including four solo blocks and four block-assists.  The eight total blocks tie a season high for blocks in a match from a NM State player.
