PHOENIX – (GCU Media Relations) Grand Canyon knocked off two-time defending WAC champion New Mexico State, 3-2, at Antelope Gymnasium Saturday. The Antelopes won by set scores of 25-22, 25-23, 23-25, 21-25, 15-11. Down 10-9 in the fifth, GCU (14-9, 4-6) scored six of the last seven points. At 13-11, GCU wrapped up the match on back-to-back kills from Megan Byrnes and Shannon Dugan.
Dugan was one of four Antelopes to record double-doubles. She had 22 kills and 16 digs. Tardy led all attackers with 24 kills and added 16 digs. Michelle Steagall had 43 assists and a career-high 16 digs. Mackenzie Phelps had 31 digs and a career-best 11 assists.
Taylor Livoti had a season-high 17 digs to go along with a team-high 29 assists for her team-leading fifth double-double of the season while Andrea Tauai led NM State with 15 kills and also added 13 digs to pick up her third double-dipper of the season. Jordan Abalos tied a personal season-high with 12 kills and added nine digs, falling one dig short of her fourth double-double of the season.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – (CSUB Media Relations) Danika Youngblood registered her 11th double-double of the year to lead Bakersfield to a 3-0 sweep of Texas-Pan American in WAC volleyball play Saturday afternoon. Youngblood led all players with 15 kills and had 10 digs.
Bakersfield held an 8.5-5.0 team blocks advantage with Megan Johnson posting a season-best five blocks to pace the ‘Runners. In addition to her double-double, Youngblood added four blocks. CSUB setter Luiza Martins recorded 32 assists. The league leader in the category, Martins has had at least 30 assists in 21 of the 22 CSUB matches this season. Martins also tallied seven digs, two blocks, and two digs.
UTPA was led by Haley Durham who charted nine kills and four blocks. Mary Kate Clark had 24 assists.
Seattle U 3, Utah Valley 1 (22-25, 25-9, 25-16, 25-21)Recap | Stats
SEATTLE – (SU Media Relations) After losing a close first set, the Seattle University volleyball team used tough serving and defense, as well as a well-distributed offense, to come back to defeat Utah Valley University, 3-1 (22-25, 25-9, 25-16, 25-21), Saturday afternoon in a WAC contest at the Connolly Center.
Martina Samadan led Seattle U with 15 kills, a .500 hitting percentage, five service aces, and nine total blocks. Iris Ivanis notched her fifth double-double of the season with 11 kills and 14 digs, with Mamic collecting 13 kills, 12 of them in the final three sets. Kerry Lane earned 49 assists and six total blocks, Vujcin contributed seven kills, three service aces, 10 digs, and three total blocks, and Shelby Babcock helped the Redhawk defense with 12 digs.
Kalani Norris led Utah Valley with 11 kills, with Kiahna Steiner earning 10 kills and five total blocks in the match. McKenna Tait led the Wolverine defense with 14 digs. Utah Valley earned only two aces as a team and hit just .111 in the match.
