KANSAS CITY – (UMKC Media Relations) For second time in three days, the Missouri-Kansas City volleyball team (20-3, 8-0) knocked-off Chicago State (6-18, 0-9) hitting a WAC season-high .480 with just three errors on Sunday afternoon at the Swinney Recreation Center for its 16th-straight victory and its school record-tying 20th win of the season.
For the ‘Roos, Kaylyn Brandt and Nicole Wemhoff set up the offense with 17 and 15 assists, respectively. On the attack, Jessica Hendin (10 kills, .474), Sydney Crimmins (eight kills, .533), Emma Hagedorn (eight kills, .500), Skyler Muff (four kills, .571), Meagan Kerns (three kills, .600), Taylor Buhrow (three kills, .500) and Morgan Voorhes (two kills, .500) all notched at least two kills and hit over .450.
On the defensive end, Taryn Miller led the team in digs with 16 and Melissa Hartsel was in on seven of the ‘Roos nine blocks, as UMKC limited the Cougars to a -.077 hitting percentage.
As a team, UMKC registered 12 service aces, with Brandt recording three and Crimmins, Kerns and Wemhoff all adding two.
Sarah Metcalfe had 11 assists, while Julia Menhart had 12 digs to pace the Cougars.
