For the second time in as many matches the New Mexico State volleyball team defeated a Western Athletic Conference foe in thrilling five-set fashion as the Aggies outlasted Utah Valley 25-19, 25-27, 16-25, 25-15, 15-11 on Thursday night. NM State came back from a two sets to one deficit to keep its conference winning streak alive at 11-consecutive WAC wins dating back to last season.
The Aggies are now 9-5 overall and 3-0 in the WAC and are on a six-match winning streak, including four-straight wins on the road. The Wolverines fall to 6-10 and .500 at 1-1 in WAC play.
Bradley Nash led the way for NM State with her third double-double of the season after marking a season-high 15 kills and adding 12 digs. Ashlyn finished with a career-high 21 assists and tied a career high with 10 digs. Gwen Murphy tied a season-high with 13 kills while fellow Nathalie Castellanos added a season-high 12 kills. Taylor Livoti again led the team with 27 assists and libero Hannah Walker had a team-high17 digs while outside hitter Andrea Tauai added 13 digs.
Lauren Bakker paced the Wolverines with 14 kills, seven blocks and a .346 attack percentage, while Kiahna Steiner added 10 kills and a career-high seven blocks of her own. Cassie Wahlin, Kalani Norris and Macky Treanor all chipped in nine kills apiece in the contest.

The Missouri-Kansas City volleyball team (12-3, 1-0) notched its eighth straight victory of the season after knocking off Grand Canyon (11-6, 1-3) in its WAC opener, on Thursday night at Antelope Gymnasium in Phoenix, Ariz.
As a team, the ‘Roos hit .240 in the match, with Sydney Crimmins leading the attack with 17 kills at a .350 clip, while Emma Hagedorn tallied 15 kills and a .448 hitting percentage and Melissa Hartsel notched 11 kills and a .476 hitting percentage from the middle.
Natalie Tardy paced the Lopes with 22 kills and 13 digs. Leigh Stonerook also posted a double-double of 48 assists and 11 digs, while Shannon Dugan doubled up with 11 kills and 17 digs. Mackenzie Phelps had a match-high 28 digs.
Seattle U 3, Texas-Pan American 0 (25-19, 27-25, 25-22)Recap | Stats
SEATTLE – (SU Media Relations) Seattle University swept Texas-Pan American 3-0 (25-19, 27-25, 25-22) in the opening home match of the Redhawks’ Western Athletic Conference schedule Thursday evening at the Connolly Center.
Iris Ivanis led Seattle U with 15 kills, posting a .407 hitting percentage, plus she earned eight digs and three total blocks. Stephanie Stoll earned seven kills to go along with a team-high .462 hitting percentage and eight block assists.
UTPA (3-13, 1-2 WAC) was led by Alisha Watson with 10 kills, a .471 hitting percentage, and three service aces, while Haley Durham contributed eight kills. The Broncs were held to a .129 hitting percentage and collected only four team blocks, while the Redhawks finished with a .293 hitting percentage, nine service aces, and 12 team blocks.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – (CSUB Media Relations) Danika Youngblood recorded her sixth double-double in the past seven matches to lead Bakersfield (6-10, 2-1 WAC) to a 3-0 sweep (25-17, 25-16, 25-16) of Chicago State (6-10, 0-2 WAC) in Western Athletic Conference volleyball action Thursday night.
Youngblood led all players with 14 kills and had 11 digs. Molly O’Hagan posted 11 kills and six blocks while Kelsee Sawyer had 10 kills. Luiza Martins directed the CSUB offense to 34 assists while Roadrunner libero Mariah Alvidrez had 12 digs.
Sarah Metcalfe had 16 assists, Julia Menhart finished with 12 digs and Essence Jackson-Jones had five blocks for the Cougars.
Bakersfield turned in nine blocks, the second most on the season for the squad as the Roadrunners held the Cougars to -.011 hitting for the match. CSUB hit .291 for the night including a .593 mark (18-2-27) in set number two.
