DENVER – New Mexico State’s Luis Medina and Grand Canyon’s Charlotte Jaengkit have been named the Western Athletic Conference Golfers of the Month for October.

Medina, a sophomore from Guadalajara, Mexico (Monteverde Academy), had the best scoring average of any WAC player during the month of October (68.8).  Media led the Aggies to a pair of team wins, defending the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate and winning UTEP’s Price’s Give ‘Em Five Invitational.  He won his first individual title during the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate, tying with two teammates with a seven-under 206.  He followed that up with the ninth-place finish at the Price’s Give ‘Em Five Invitational, carding a 10-under 206.  He leads the WAC this season with a 70.46 scoring average.

Jaengkit, a senior from Bangkok, Thailand (Antelope Valley Christian), won two of three tournaments she played in during the month of October, posting a scoring average of 72.1.  She opened the month with a win at the New Mexico State Invitational, carding a 10-under 206 to tie for first among 81 golfers.  Jaengkit followed that up with a win at Seattle U’s Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational, shooting a one-under 215 to tie for first among 77 golfers.  In her final tournament of the month, she tied for 19th among 82 golfers at Hawaii’s Rainbow Wahine Invitational with a 12-over 228.  She leads the WAC this season with a 72.86 scoring average with four of the top 10 individual rounds this season.
