WAC Volleyball Player of the Week Announced

DENVER – Utah Valley sophomore outside hitter Macky Treanor has been named Western Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 3-9. This is her first WAC Player of the Week honor of the season and second of her career.

The Salem, Utah, native averaged WAC-bests of 5.43 points and 1.00 service aces to go along with 4.14 kills on .434 hitting, 2.00 digs and 0.57 blocks per set as the Wolverines picked up a pair of WAC victories, including a four-set win over WAC leader Missouri-Kansas City, to move into a tie for third place in the WAC standings. Treanor opened the week with match highs of 11 kills and four service aces in a sweep of Chicago State. She did not commit an attack error in the match as she recorded a career-high .647 hitting percentage in the victory. In the upset over UMKC, Treanor put up her third double-double of the season with 18 kills and 10 digs to go along with three service aces and three blocks. She entered the week averaging 3.14 points, 2.80 kills, 1.30 digs, 0.36 blocks and 0.15 service aces per set.

Other nominees included: Bakersfield’s Molly O’Hagan finished with a career-high-tying 21 kills, five blocks, four digs and two assists in a five-set loss to Grand Canyon ... Natalie Tardy of Grand Canyon averaged 4.25 points, 3.80 kills and 2.30 digs per set as the Lopes went 2-0 on the week ... Missouri-Kansas City’s Emma Hagedorn averaged 2.88 kills on .500 hitting and 1.25 blocks per set as the Kangaroos went 1-1 on the week ... Andrea Tauai of New Mexico State split time between libero and outside hitter in the Aggies’ only match last week and finished with a career-high 29 digs to go along with seven kills and two service aces ... Seattle U’s Stephanie Stoll averaged a WAC-best 1.86 blocks and 1.57 kills as the Redhawks went 1-1 last week ... Alisha Watson of Texas-Pan American averaged 3.12 kills and 1.88 blocks per set as the Broncs went 1-1 on the week.
