DENVER - Texas-Pan American's Shawnte' Goff has been named Western Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Nov. 10 through Nov. 16.
Goff, a sophomore from Copperas Cove, Texas (Copperas Cove HS), earned all-tournament honors at the Maggie Dixon Classic, hosted by DePaul. She scored 21 points in a season-opening win against New Mexico and nearly led UTPA to an upset win on Sunday against No. 5 Texas A&M.
Other offensive nominees included: Bakersfield guard/forward Tyonna Outland led the Roadrunners to a 40-point win over Air Force, scoring 28 points in a 96-56 win…Missouri-Kansas City guard Calli White helped the Kangaroos move to 1-0 on the season with 22 points on Saturday in a win at Eastern Illinois…Utah Valley guard Taylor Gordon scored 23 points in a win over Bristol University on Saturday…Seattle U forward Wilma Afunugo led the Redhawks to a comeback win over Portland State on Sunday, scoring a team-high 16 points…Grand Canyon guard August Touchard had a career-best 19 points in a season-opening 54-53 loss to UC Irvine…New Mexico State guard Shanice Davis led the Aggies with 21 points in a 78-73 loss to UTEP on Friday night.
