SAN ANTONIO – (UTPA Media Relations) Janari Joesaar posted his second-straight double-double to lead the University of Texas-Pan American Broncs men's basketball team past the UTSA Roadrunners 63-62 on Monday at the Convocation Center. The Broncs are off to their first 2-0 start since 2007-08.
Joesaar led the Broncs with 17 points on 7-of-12 shooting to go with a career-high 18 rebounds (five offensive), a career-high four assists, a career-high six blocks and one steal. The 18 rebounds are the highest total by a Broncs player since prior to the 2008-09 season. The six blocks are tied for the seventh-most in a single game in program history and the highest total since Jan. 21, 2004, when Ryan Lange had six blocks against UT Arlington.
Three other Broncs reached double-figures in scoring, led by Shaquille Boga, who scored 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting with four assists and one steal. Shaquille Hines scored 15 points with seven rebounds. Dan Kimasa scored 10 points with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Grand Canyon 61, Montana State 45Recap | Stats
PHOENIX – (GCU Media Relations) The Grand Canyon University men's basketball team (1-1) defeated Montana State (0-2) 61-45 tonight in the Antelopes' regular season home opener at GCU Arena. The Lopes limited the Bobcats to just 34.9 percent from the field (15-for-43) and forced 22 Montana State turnovers.
The 45 points allowed mark the second-fewest for the squad under head coach Dan Majerle.
The Lopes posted a 44.4 percentage from the floor (20-for-45) and held a 26-22 advantage in points in the paint. GCU was also aided by 27 points off the bench. The Lopes went 16-for-21 from the charity stripe (76.2 percent).
Ryan Majerle led all scorers with 13 points, while Royce Woolridge added 11 points and Daniel Alexander finished with 10. Kerwin Smith led GCU on the boards with six rebounds. Woolridge also dished out eight assists and drained 9-of-11 free throw attempts on the night.

MANHATTAN, Kan. – (UMKC Media Relations) The UMKC men's basketball squad gave Kansas State all it could handle at Bramlage Coliseum on Monday night, but a 25-8 second half run by the Wildcats proved to be the difference in an 83-73 contest.
Martez Harrison led the 'Roos with 21 points, the second time in his career that he has posted 20 or more points in consecutive games. Broderick Newbill added a career-high 11 points, while Shayok Shayok put up 10 points for the second straight game.
Eastern Washington 75, Utah Valley 50Recap | Stats
CHENEY, Wash. – (UVU Media Relations) Zach Nelson led Utah Valley with 12 points and Jaden Jackson added 10 in a 75-50 loss to Eastern Washington Monday night at Reese Court. The game marks the start of seven straight road games for the Wolverines.
Eastern Washington (2-0) got off to a quick start, taking a 15-2 lead to open the game. Utah Valley (1-1) did cut the EWU lead to just eight points late in the first half, but couldn't get any closer as Eastern Washington then used a 15-3 run in the second half to secure the win.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff 56, Bakersfield 49Recap | Stats
HONOLULU – (CSUB Media Relations) After trailing by 17 points midway through the second half, the CSUB Roadrunners couldn’t convert on enough scoring opportunities or take enough momentum off a 13-0 run over a nine-minute stretch to catch Arkansas-Pine Bluff as the Golden Lions held off the Roadrunners 56-49 in the final game of the Outrigger Resorts Rainbow Classic at the Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu.
Javonte Maynor scored a game-high 17 points on 5-of-10 shooting and 5-of-9 from three-point range, while Kevin Mays added 15 points and 11 rebounds for his second double-double of the season.
Saint Mary's 83, New Mexico State 71

MORAGA, Calif. – (NMSU Media Relations) For the second straight game, New Mexico State dug itself a first half hole that it couldn’t climb out of, as the Aggies dropped an 83-71 decision at Saint Mary’s early Tuesday morning as part of the ESPN Tipoff Marathon.
NM State (0-2) trailed by 14 at the half to the Gaels (2-0) and later by 21 early in the second before making a run to threaten the game in the final minutes.
NM State was again paced by senior guard Daniel Mullings, who led the Aggies with 18 points and six rebounds and two steals. The Aggies also got 17 points from senior Remi Barry, while sophomore Ian Baker added 11 points.
