DENVER — Wyoming’s Adam Kalms has been named the Western Athletic Conference Men’s Swimmer of the Week for November 11-17.
Kalms, a senior from Marmong Point, Australia (St. Francis Xavier’s HS), added wins in the 100 backstroke at 50.46 and 100 freestyle with a time of 45.00 against UC Santa Barbara on Friday. He also added a win in 400 freestyle relay at 3:02.51 with a 43.8 split on the back end of the relay. On Saturday, Kalms won three events to lead Wyoming against Cal Poly. He won the 200 freestyle at 1:39.10. He followed that up with a win in the 100 freestyle at 45.73 and 200 individual medley at 1:51.65. Kalms is now ranked first in the WAC in the 200 freestyle, third in the 200 IM and fourth in both the 100 freestyle and 100 backstroke.
