Utah Valley 85, Southern Utah 75

CEDAR CITY, Utah – (UVU Media Relations) Mitch Bruneel scored a career-high 27 points and Zach Nelson added a career-high 24 to lead Utah Valley to an 85-75 road win over in-state rival Southern Utah Saturday night at the Centrum Arena.
 
Utah Valley improves to 2-1 overall with the win. The Wolverines also even up their road record at 1-1. The game against Southern Utah marked Utah Valley’s second of seven straight road games.  The Wolverines and Thunderbirds went back-and-forth as the game produced six lead changes and eight ties.
 
Marcel Davis also reached double digit scoring with 10 points to go along with six assists, three rebounds and a steal. Jaden Jackson and Chad Ross each scored seven points.
Texas-Pan American 82, Texas A&M Kingsville 77

EDINBURG, Texas – (UTPA Media Relations) The University of Texas-Pan American Broncs men's basketball team is off to its first 3-0 start since 2006-07 following an 82-77 victory over the Texas A&M-Kingsville Javelinas on Saturday at the UTPA Fieldhouse.
 
Janari Joesaar led the Broncs (3-0) with a career-high 27 points points on 6-of-13 shooting, including 3-of-4 from behind the arc, plus a career-high 12-of-16 from the line, with eight rebounds, four assists, one block and two steals. Shaquille Hines scored 16 points on 8-of-12 shooting with six rebounds. Shaquille Boga scored 12 points with six rebounds, three assists and one steal. Shaun Noriega hit three three-pointers while scoring 11 points.
Chicago State 75, Trinity Christian 52
Stats

CHICAGO – The Cougars defeated Trinity Christian 75-52 Saturday to improve to 2-2 on the season.

Clarke Rosenburg led Chicago State with 18 points, while Trayvon Palmer had 11 points and seven rebounds. Jared Dimakos and Jawad Adekoya scoted 10 points each.
UTEP 77, New Mexico State 76

EL PASO, Texas – (NM State Media Relations) Four New Mexico State players scored in double figures, however, UTEP rallied late in the second half to defeat the Aggies 77-76 in Battle of I-10 Saturday night at the Don Haskins Center.

DK Eldridge scored a team-high 17 points on 6-of-13 shooting from the field. Remi Barry helped out with 16 points.

The Aggies shot 54.5 percent (30-of-55) from the field, including 58 percent (18-of-31) in the first half.
Arkansas-Little Rock 73, Missouri-Kansas City 68

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – (UMKC Media Relations) UMKC led for more than 26 minutes on Saturday afternoon in Little Rock, but a second half run by UALR was enough for the Trojans to take a 73-68 men's basketball victory in the Regional Round of the EA Sports Maui Invitational.

The ‘Roos were led by Martez Harrison and Frank Williams with 15 points each, while Reese Holliday had the biggest night with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Williams and Holliday’s totals were both season-highs. Shayok Shayok also set a career-best with 11 boards, while Deshon Taylor had 10 points for the first time in his career.
