PHOENIX – The Grand Canyon University men's basketball team (2-3) closed out their four-game homestand with an 80-64 loss to visiting Buffalo (3-1) tonight at GCU Arena.
The Antelopes were hampered by a season-low 32.2 field goal percentage (19-for-59) while the Bulls went 28-for-54 (51.9 percent) from the floor.
Two different GCU players picked up season-bests with the Lopes in tonight's game: Royce Woolridge with 19 points and Ryan Majerle with 16. Jerome Garrison added 15 points. GCU held the 40-39 advantage in rebounds, but were outdueled by Buffalo in the paint (36-20).
Oakland 70, Chicago State 57Stats
ROCHESTER, Mich. – The Cougars fell 70-57 to host Oakland on the second day of the CBE Hall of Fame Classic Tuesday.
Chicago State shot 35 percent from the field, 32 percent from three-point range and 56 percent from the free throw line on the game, compared to the 45, 41 and 61 percent, respectively, of the Golden Grizzlies.
Clarke Rosenberg led the Cougars with 15 points, while Jared Dimakos added 11 and Anthony Glover had 10. Johnny Griffin just missed a double-double, finishing with nine points and 10 rebounds.
